Episode 48

LA County Jail’s High Power and Tory Lanez, Dre sues politician, and robber gets killed during robbery | Streets & Scholars (EP48)

In this episode 48 of Streets and Scholars with Frank "FG" Thornton and Alex Alonso they discuss:

* In episode 48 we discussed Tory Lanez being incarcerated in the Los Angeles County jail after his conviction of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Celebrities such as Tory are held in the "High Power" section of the jail. In this episode we talked with Isaac Pedroza (02:31) who spent 5-years in LA County jail's High Power and he explains this section of the jail.

* How did Julie Hudson, 31, (15:08) who lives in Philadelphia get arrested for a crime that occurred in Webster, Texas a state that she had never been too? She spent one week in a Philadelphia jail before they figured out she was innocent. Does this warrant a law suit? If so how much money can Julie get?

* Dr. Dre (Andre Young) (24:16) has sued Congress women Majorie Taylor Greene for using his music without properly licensing it from his company.  Green is considered an extremely divisive and racially insensitive politician that has been a strong supporter of Donald Trump

* Rapper Meek Mill (29:01)was pardon by the governor of Pennsylvania for a 2008 drug and gun arrest that has impacted his life for 10 years. Gov. Tom Wolf  pardoned almost 369 former defendants last week. The impact of joint suspended sentences and clemency and pardons are discussed.

* Eric Eugene Washington (45:02) who was black, was shot and killed in a restaurant that he was robbing when a patron pulled his weapon and shot him nine times. This shooting was captured on video which showed Washington robbing each person in the restaurant and before he left, a white patron shot him in the back multiple times. After, the shooter learned that Washington was actually using a fake gun. Should the shooter be charged or was he justified?
